It took me over a year to get to a point where I was not only comfortable with the idea of white paint, but to have it become an overwhelming desire to coat myself in it.

I'm not good with white.
In playing with opposites I prefer to feel light from a point of total dark. For this reason The Star is one of my favourite tarot cards. A single point of light, surrounded by the lack of it...as opposed to the other way around.

I wanted these shots to stand in complete contrast to Nigredo, and for that I focused myself on white, losing myself in light as part of an unwavering need to follow all opposites to their extreme (It is the only path I have found to the centre).

I have never gone so deep into white, this is probably the most naked and passive that I have ever felt in front of a camera. I had two of my closest friends with me, one taking the photographs and one pouring the paint, once the paint fell over my eyes I kept them shut and attempted to let go, something I'm not always very good at, and let the white do its thing.

I do love the way the shoot came out.
Looking at them, I feel very unfamiliar to myself, though the first four shots probably most accurately depict what I currently look like sans acrylic.
